I was convinced my diverticulitis episode (presenting right) was due to the pain meds and opiates taken due to/ during my abortion, I'm finally reading something that makes me feel like I was not imagining things despite doc telling me it was due to a low fibers diet (which isn't my case).
Excellent piece! I was pleased to read that you addressed two lingering myths. (1) All cases of diverticulitis require ATBs and (2) No nuts or seeds! Patients are skeptical when I advise them that they can eat fistfuls of nuts, since they've been told for decades that this puts them in danger of diverticulitis. Well done!

Glad to know this helped!

Haha exactly! Glad you enjoyed it

Haha yes! Thank you 😀Even when I started my training I was taught the seeds could get stuck in the diverticula causing diverticulitis! Oh dear
