Thank you for making the connection between gut health and skin issues. I was having complexion problems for about 6 months before I ended up in the hospital with severe diverticulitis with peritonitis. One of the first things I noticed after surgery was that my complexion was clear.

This one we understood very well - great article :)

First sign to recovering is recognising the signs

When these symptoms are glaringly clear, why do most physicians only check CRP and ESR? If they are normal but symptoms persist, why don’t they ever check any cytokines? Too many to check?

CRP is helpful in acute inflammation - cytokines don’t tell the whole story sadly

Which probiotics would you recommend? (I'm UK-based)

I have written about this in my probiotic article 😀

Thank you for making the link between gut health and joint stiffness. I usually get rolled eyes when I mention the fact that they come hand in hand for me.

Very important link

I found the eczema section particularly interesting because it moves the conversation beyond the skin itself. The gut, immune system, and skin are clearly worth considering together. Thanks for the well-written article!

This is a reasonable article but I am looking for the causes of inflammation.

Great piece, and "one clue rarely solves the case" is the right frame for this kind of vague presentation.

Reading the five together, they may be more unified than they look. Four of them route back through the same two things you keep naming: a leaky gut barrier and a shared set of messengers, TNF-alpha and IL-6. So fatigue, fog, stiff joints and skin flares might not be five problems but one process showing up in whichever tissue is most vulnerable in a given person. Which is why any single sign is weak, but the pattern is worth taking seriously.
