I recently retired from a career in nursing and nutritional counseling thankfully as it is imploding. I respect your "respect" of GLIP-1s -- you have your reasons. I do not agree with them holding some promise -- the insurance companies are denying them, just as they did when bypass surgery became an outpatient money maker. We are not looking at sources of obesity, only symptoms by shoving yet another magic pill at the massive fat masses. Myself, I lost 45 pounds, reversed my diabetes and have a better metabolism. How? I stopped alcohol, store-bought beverages of all kinds, bread, pasta and most white flour product. I drive by drive-thrus and cook healthily at home and... exercise minimally. I feel no food neglect. I can eat sugar in moderation without issue. My A1c is below 6. There are better ways. I do not believe the clinical trials are true and the problems with GLPs WILL surface very soon. It always does. Stop reaching for food and face your real fears. Obesity is a mental health issue and the Western diet is ungoverned and is meant to kill you. Let's talk about kick-backs and conflicts of interest, hm?

GLP-1 user here and I can say that the transformative aspects are unbeatable. The most surprising impact for me has been the quality of my mental health. I’m happier, more positive, and accepting of myself so much more. It’s not without its faults as you’ve explained here but when weighing them against the positive aspects I’m glad I did this. 40lb down and more to go!
